The new Siemens 3RB3026 overload relays are used for protecting motors in three ways: protection of loads from phase failure, from complete phase loss and AMP overloading for an extended period of time (time dependent on class setting of overload). They provide electronic protection that is superior to their thermal overload counterparts and also provide a wide range of AMP settings that reduces inventory and increases usability.
Each Siruis 3RB3 overload has two auxiliary contacts for trip indicating status, a TEST button, a RESET button along with a trip indication window for visual notification that the unit has entered a tripped state. These overloads mount directly to any Siemens 3RT2 size S0 contactor, which includes contactors ranging from the 3RT2023 to the 3RT2028 3 pole contactors.
